Regional advantages
The project intends to enhance regional competitiveness with design and marketing on the areas that have been stated as important in regional strategies, and to make the region’s education more attractive and better suited for the needs of enterprises. A sub-objective of the project is to analyze three different fields from the point of view of product development and design and to find places for development.
During the project as a part of educational process three different fields will be analyzed. The fields that have been chosen from regional strategies are a) marine and boat industry, b) energy and sustainable development and c) leisure time and tourism. The project works on these fields, but also tries to find synergies between the fields. The chosen fields are important from an environmental perspective, for example trying to find a balance between tourism and nature in the Kvarken area.
The environment and sustainable development are important points of views in the project. In the first year sustainable development is one of the themes that the chosen fields are analyzed in. Later in the project environment, sustainable development and responsible consuming are themes that will be taken into account in the development projects.
