CreaCIT and the EU Objectives and Priorities

The creaCIT project aligns closely with the key competences for lifelong learning (1) in the following ways:

  • Digital competence: through the use of web 2.0 technologies
  • Learning to learn: through the use of interactive narrative modules
  • Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship: through the teaching domain of creativity and innovation
  • Cultural awareness and expansion: through the creative expression of ideas in a range of media

CreaCIT works closely within the defined EU strategy for innovation (2) to foster the creative skills and lateral thinking required by the introduction of modular interactive teaching content focusing on those areas. The creaCIT LE provides an online platform for interaction that operates across national, linguistic and cultural boundaries and provides mobility in modern European innovation.

CreaCIT follows the objectives of the European strategy and co-operation in education and training (3) by:

  • Improving the quality and effectiveness of education and training systems- by integrating and deploying a state of the art LE to deliver narrative driven educational web 2.0 content to students. creaCIT will also provide learning guides and a modular pedagogical framework to assist teachers.
  • Facilitating access to education and training systems- by delivering content within a LE that supports multiple languages and scaled module difficulty, modules can be reused in different education sectors.
  • Opening up EU education and training systems to the wider world- by developing a robust online delivery platform, creaCIT can be applied in a wider variety of contexts subsequent to the life cycle of the project.
