Demonstrating Renewable Energy System
A low-carbon society requires innovative technologies and working methods for sustainable energy systems. Renewable energy systems are connected to the environment and depent on the circumstances that define suitable energy systems. There is still need for research knowledge and pilot environmnets for both innovative renewable energy technologies and the ways to integrate them into a cohesive and well-functioning systems. In order to establish energy production in a sustainable way, it is necessary to increase understanding about renewable energy and their impact in people’s lives and business life.
The aim of the project is to plan a demonstration environment for sustainable energy production. The demonstration environment consists of innovative solutions related to renewable energy and creates a platform for piloting innovative technologies as well as a new research platform. Multisensory and interactive spatial solutions demonstrate renewable energy solutions to different target groups. The project results in a plan for an innovative energy system as a research and pilot platform, which integrates different renewable technologies. In addition, the project produces new ideas, concepts and prototypes of the ways to demonstrate renewable energy through interactive spatial systems.
Vaasa Energy Institute and Design Centre MUOVA implement the project in close collaboration with regional actors. The project started 1st November, 2015 and lasts until 30th October, 2016. The project is funded by EAKR - The programm for Sustainable Growth and Jobs, Regional Council of Ostrobothnia, University of Vaasa, VAMK University of Applied Sciences, and Kiinteistö Oy Merten Talo.
